A Metaphor for Color Blindness

I want to write a paper, just so I can use this metaphor:

There are those who argue that we should “deracialize”– that we should not only stop paying attention to racial categories, but that we should actively engage in erasing them from official statistics and consideration. According to this argument, racial categories are harmful and unnatural social constructs and erasing them would be a useful step toward a merit based society. Like an infant playing peek-a-boo, the problems of this American society will disappear, if only they can cover their eyes.

Instead, I’m settling for writing a blog post. (Not settling in a bad way! Deciding upon!)
