People are really excited about Jeremy Lin, the Knicks unstoppable new point guard. This is awesome because so many Asian Americans have been rooting for this guy for so long. I mean, when he was in college, I would get emails from Asian Americans organizing groups to get people to go watch his games. People who don’t even like basketball are watching his highlight reels.
It feels a bit like vindication. Or people’s hopes being fulfilled. It’s only been three games, but isn’t it nice to focus on something good happening for Asian American visibility?
