Two events that I’m super psyched for, in chronological order:
First, in less than two weeks, CAPAY’s Filmposium! It’s two days full of youth made films and hands-on workshops. Check out the Facebook page or the Filmposium Flyer. We’ll be taking on immigration, Youtube, and how to shoot like a cowboy. You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll feel way smarter when you leave! (We hope. Some of you are pretty smart to begin with?)
Saturday May 14 11:00 am- 5:00 pm and Sunday May 15, 2011 1:00-5:00 pm
at UMass Boston
Then, UMass Boston’s Asian American Studies Program (AsAmSt 370) is showcasing at the Apple Store in downtown Boston. Those gorgeous screens will be filled by daring, self-reflective storytellers, whose works draw on living memory, family records and social documentation to create intensely powerful stories about relationships, (im)migration, war, homeland, and more.
Wednesday May 18, 2011 6:00- 8:00 pm
Apple Store 815 Boylston Street, Boston (Back Bay-Copley)
