The new CD from David Crowder Band, “Give Us Rest” is the most epic CD I’ve heard since Janelle Monae’s “Archandroid”. It’s epic in a 2 hour, rock opera full of cowboys and space aliens kind of way. In a Gregorian chants to Johnny Cash to Blue Grass in one journey kind of way. Epic.
And it’s one of the bluegrass songs that’s been stuck in my head. Country isn’t usually my style, and I wouldn’t want a library full of songs like this, but a few to hum on my way to the bus is pretty great. The song for this week is David Crowder Band’s “Jesus, Lead Me to Your Healing Waters”:
